Position Title: Financial Controller Supervisor: Chief Financial Officer Employment Type: Regular Full-time Exempt Work Location: On-Site, In Person, Meridian, MS Van Zyverden, Inc. seeks to hire a talented and highly motivated Financial Controller to lead the Accounting team and ensure the accurate recording of financial information in corporate accounting records, internal control procedures and proper segregation of duties, control over expenditures in accordance with approved budget limitations, and timely and accurate managerial reporting and financial statements in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles or Other Comprehensive Basis of Accounting. The successful candidate will be a hands-on, participatory manager and must have a successful track record in setting priorities, as well as excellent analytic, organizational, and communication skills. Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Managing accounting functions on a daily basis, including ensuring a timely, accurate, and efficient month-end accounting closing procedure; Ensuring that payrolls and cash disbursements are accurate and timely and that all payroll, tax, and 401k deposits are made on a timely basis. Ensuring all bank accounts are reconciled on a timely basis and cash position is reported to Corporate Officers on a daily basis; Preparing and providing monthly, seasonal, and annual financial statements to the Chief Financial Officer on a timely basis; Establishing, maintaining, and supervising the effectiveness of the corporate system of internal control over accounting records and assets; Collaborating with the IT Department to enhance the accounting department's use of ERP software, spreadsheets, and other technology in accounting and reporting; Performing financial analysis and reporting operational data to management; Managing the annual financial audit process performed by an independent CPA firm; Ensuring local, state, and federal tax and regulatory compliance; Other duties as assigned by the Corporate Officers. Key Skills: Strong computer skills, including experience working with ERP systems, financial reporting systems, spreadsheets, and databases. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to get along well with others and resolve conflicts. High attention to detail and organization. Ability to deal with confidential and sensitive information professionally. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Strong supervisory and leadership skills. Ability to prioritize tasks and delegate when appropriate. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software. Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree in accounting required. Master's degree or CPA license preferred. Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting. Work Environment: Office-based role with prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer. May require working outside regular business hours to meet deadlines. Requires communication and collaboration across multiple departments. Ability to travel as needed.
